Ok heres my problem every time I start up my computer I’m always asked to run this thing called jucheck.exe and not knowing what it is or if it’s legit I say NO everytime so my question is do I say yes or no or what is it and how do I get rid of it this computer is only a year and a half old if that so what do I do thank you Mr. Kris
I had read a lot about this jucheck.exe from what i read it seemed to be fine with no threat. Well that was bull, completely crashed my pc. Had to take it back to the store and have it restored. Now a month later it is popping up again i click no and it comes right back, I have to open up my task manager just to have control of my screen again. But it still does not go away, I’ve ran virus scans and they can even get rid of it.
HOW DO I GET RID OF THIS?!?!
i got sick of the constant updates, went to Oracles web site, they are the publishers of java (sun microsystems) and downloaded the latest version. They suggest removing older versions of java from your computer manually from the uninstall option because of the potential security risk the older versions may present. so far it has fixed the problem. their web site gives you help and information for free.
Can go to the start menu control panel and then java, then update tab. If you want to disable it you can, or you can make it check so it only checks monthly, it’s not bad though, just updates a new version of java.
I am tired of “Java Update ” popping up a lot while I’m at the computer. When I Ok for Jave
update by itself, Jucheck.exe pops up also. What is What!!
Anyone running a variety of programs has PERIODIC updates to be installed. BUT how can ANY program need “UPDATING” every few hours FOREVER. Something is strange here. Lately I have been checking NO when this comes up. I will now study the other posts on this subject. What I have read here on this side does NOT seem to settle this issue. Wish there was a DEFINITIVE answer.
How does one determine if CONTINUAL daily “Java” alerts
are legitimate? There must be a simple way to authenticate. I see contradictory posts.
JUCHECK.EXE : Anyone running a several programs has PERIODIC updates to be installed. Of course. BUT how can ANY program need “UPDATING” every few hours FOREVER. Something is strange here. Lately I have been checking NO when this comes up. I will now study the other posts on this subject. What I’ve read here on your site does NOT seem to settle this issue. There must be a DEFINITIVE answer. I hope to reach someone from Java. There FAQs are damned near worthless and they hide their phone numbers and E-Mail addresses. I do NOT want to “chat” or spend money to get reasonable answers to simple questions. How to determine authenticity?
When I open Internet Explorer it works fine. However, after jucheck.exe pops up Internet Explorer stops responding and I have to completely restart my computer to be able to use Internet Explorer again. At this point, the whole process starts over. I am able to use Internet Explorer with no add-ons. I would be grateful for any feedback.
Hey,
I’ve been searching on the internet what jucheck.exe is. And there is group of people who will tell you not to download the update, and a group of people who will say it’s okey to download it (like you).
But my problem is.. about which update are they talking about..
You see, every time I start my computer it gives me two update with jucheck.exe.
One has a certification, which the other lack. But when I search on the internet to see which one is the good one, they all say, “C: / Program Files/ Java/ jre6/ bin/jucheck.exe”, and that’s the one that doesn’t has a certification..
The other jucheck is, “C:/ Program Files (x86) / Common Files/ Java/ Java Update/ jucheck.exe” which is has a certification, but that’s the update that nearly everybody wants to remove.
So my question is, to cut a long story short, which is the one that does no harm? or are both okey to download.. or something..
(sorry for my bad english, it’s not my first language)
In order to complete my story,..
the“C:/Program Files/Java/jre6/bin/jucheck.exe” is 422 kB
And the “C:/Program Files (x86)/Common Files/Java/Java Update/jucheck.exe” is 479 kB.
Which is also weird..
thank you. not so nervous about it now
If it were me, I’d backup my system / create a restore point, scan that file with something like Microsoft’s security essentials or your favorite antivirus, then let it execute if the scan came back clean.
If it is not a threat, then do I let it execute? I am so afraid it is not legitimate.
New Compq CQ laptop. W7. On start up I get a dialogue box saying permission needed to accept this ‘non-verified’ program. Why doesn’t it load automatically
Thank you I wasn’t sure what this file was or why it needed to be executed. There is so much junk out there, this helps sift through it all.
When I try and delete jucheck.exe it won’t let me and another box pops up asking if I want to let the program C:\windows\installer\7fe2.msi change my hard drive? Please help.
