My husband and I have also been scammed by LDDS. Thank you for all the advice given. We have already talked to the bank and have filed a claim. Next we will call the number provided and try to get our money back. It doesn’t make sense considering we never give out our account number. I don’t understand how people are able to do this.
I take care of my aunt finances and realized 33.85 was coming out of her account every month. At first I thought it was some sort of insurance I found out it was company called LDDS. I didn’t authorize anyone to take any money out of her account. I then called the bank they didn’t know this company My aunt is 70 years old and on social security as soon as her check is deposited in the bank they take the money. WOW! this is amazing how people can find out your information..
I checked my bank account on Friday and found that $33.85 was taken out of my account. I called my bank to inquire about this amount and found out that it was LDDS that sent the payment through. I did not authorize this. I do not even know who LDDS is. I then had to go to the bank and fill out a form for futher investigation. The company was called while I was at the bank and they could not provide any answers. They only asked questions, which to me did not make any sense. It is very scary that someone can get your information and pretend that you ordered their services.
I just filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The number where I reached them (thanks to Linda above) was listed as the number for VOIP Wholesale Brokers in Cheyenne, Wyoming. I spoke with a rep (Jim Robertson) at LDDS and he said they would refund my money (several months’ worth) within 15 days. I won’t hold my breath. Please file a complaint if you have not already done so. You can find the company information via a google search using the 866-543-8158 number.
I too was scammed $33.85 out of my account. how do these people think that they can get away with this crap. please people please file complaint with the BBB.
the company is a scam, ran by a person sitting at his computer stealing personal information, i would never give out my checking account number over the phone, yet 33.85 still was illegally taken and of course there is no human who can explain how they got my account and routing number. This was supposedly authorized on a day when no one was home, and the people who comment about this great company are the ones stealing from you, the “good” comments are just put there to throw you off. THIS IS A SCAM!!!! companies are selling your information for MONEY to thieves!!!
Checked my bank account this past Friday, I always check it, daily. OCD. Anyway, noticed this debit on 12/17 frpm EC Processing for Long Distance Discount Services for $33.85. I immediately called EC Processing, they called me back and gave me the number for this transaction. I just left a message for them. I only use my Verizon Wireless cell and do not have a land line. So I have free Long distince in the evening and a decent package. No need for a Long Distance Service. So what I asked was how did you get my bank account info, called my Bank. Going after them fully loaded.
FRAUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LDDS is a long distance telephone company… I am pretty happy with their service. I switched over to their “voip” thing when i was sick of getting ripped off by bellsouth. I have been with them for a little over two years. For sure its a better deal than bellsouth, (no hidden fees, and friendly helpful customer service, unlike so many of these big phone companies) but I find that the line gets choppy when im using the internet at the same time, and there is a delay when im talking to my mother in england. (i guess cause of the distance). So that is my complaint. I have seen online a similar product called “magic jack”, when my 12 month subscription is up, i will give that one a try.
LDDS has just scammed me too. They are getting ahold of bank accounts and charging for a service. customer service asked me if I recently changed long distance coverage. I said no. They then asked if I recently purchased a new phone either landline or cellular. I told them no once again. He then asked me if I had purchased anything over the internet. I told him I had and that their service was included in the product I purchased. I have and I am a victim of fraud. They have access to my bank account. they are sending a check that does not require my signature to my bank and taking out funds. He would not tell me where or who gave him my account information, but he said my account has been cancelled and that a refund will be returned in about 15 days. I do not expect this to happen and I am once again going to contact the collection agency that handled this transaction for information on this company. I am looking for their business address, so i can contact their local district attorney and the state attorney general to go after these ***** or swine for internet fraud. If anyone has information on their address please let me know.
Gary,
here is a number to call: 1-866-543-8158, and tell them you want the money back they took out of your mothers account. They did the same to me, and I called and talked to a guy named Matthew Reynolds. I hope to see my money back in my account within 15 days.
My mother-in-law had to close out her bank because LDDS somehow got access to her account and has been charging her $24.95 plus $33.85 each month since last October for absolutely no services provided. Iwonder how many more victims are out there.
