Recently, we received a communication from an employee representing Red Swoosh (RSEDNCLIENT.EXE) who asked us to issue the following correction. We have included that email below, but have changed the name of the employee to protect privacy.
My name is [Jon Doe] and I’m an employee of Red Swoosh, Inc., content distribution network located in San Francisco, CA. [more detail – removed for provacy]
I recently visited your website www.auditmypc.com,https://www.auditmypc.com/rsednclient.asp and the Red Swoosh product named RSEDNClient.exe is incorrectly labeled as spyware.
Our software delivers no advertisements, does not monitor user activity, and simply enables users to connect to a private Grid to download legitimate content they have been authorized to retrieve. We do not store or retrieve any personal information on any user as we simply act as a networking system. In addition, we present all users of our software with basic information about the client, an FAQ, a fair EULA and email support.
In addition, the Red Swoosh client is cleared for use by all of the major providers of security and privacy software including AOL Safety and Security Center, Microsoft’s Defender, Ad-Aware SE Professional, McAfee Internet Security, Norton Internet Security and many others.
As you can tell, I am pretty concerned that Red Swoosh has been unfairly labeled by your website. Certainly, it is important work to make sure people are informed of possible threats that could harm their PCs, but it is just as important that software providers who are doing the right things by end-users do not get lumped in with the bad guys. I have attached screen shots of what information your website is currently posting about Red Swoosh.
If there is anything Red Swoosh does that causes us to be flagged for some reason, please let us know and we will act quickly to mitigate any issue. Otherwise please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, concerns, or anything that can help clear my Company’s name. Thank you for your time and consideration, and I’d appreciate you updating your website accordingly.
